Introduction:
You've done so well with compare/contrast writing, that it's time to show you a more complex paragraph format that allows you to categorize, define, and explain ideas. It's called classification.
Group into Categories:
Classification writing is similar to compare and contrast, but it discusses items in terms of what qualities or characteristics they have. In a classification writing, you want to present the reader with categories (qualities, characteristics, or groups), define those categories, then give strong examples that "show" the qualities, characteristics or groups in action.
