Sentence Parts: Conjunctions

Listen

The Goal:

In this next series of lessons we will now learn about sentence parts.    In this lesson, you will learn about the small "Lego brick" connector-words that make a BIG difference.  These words are called conjunctions and there are two types:  coordinating and subordinate.  You will practice identifying and applying conjunctions to sentence types to create interesting sentences.  Be sure to watch, read, and play any games to help you remember the information.

Directions:

  1. Watch the videos.

2.  Even though these are small words, there are several rules to remember.  Don't worry! It will take time, but you will get it.  We will be using Quill.org to practice sentence construction throughout the year.

3.  Use these images to help you identify coordinating and subordinate conjunctions.  Click on the image to find it's source, should you want a larger version.
